The flight deck

            “Another story for another time.” Michelle said turning to face her. “Now this is the heart of the Freya.”

            Michelle came to stand in front of her.

“The deck is laid out as thus, my chair- the pilots seat is to your left immediately behind me.” She signaled with her thumb at the empty seat to Flynt’s right. “Flynt is my copilot and his seat is next to mine.” Flynt waved.

“The seat to you left is one reserved for the engineer- Stonegrim’s and damage control.” Michelle pointed at the empty seat left. “The seat behind Flynt’s is the Navigator’s seat. Severin usually sits there.”

She pointed to Vanessa’s right. “That’s Kat’s seat to your immediate right. Traditionally it is our communication/auxiliary seat. Quest will be sitting there when he comes aboard. To your far left it our weapons station” Michele pointed across the deck to the strange console and chair that sat with it. “Kat will sit there this flight.”

Michelle then pointed to the chair right in front of Vanessa, sitting on a small dais above the others on the deck. “This seat is the Queen’s seat.”

Michelle knelt and after a moment Flynt followed. Vanessa stood there in the silence.

“That’s your seat Milady- it will always be your seat.”
